This Week's Freebie from The 1937 Flood

Here’s a song that was very important to a young Marty Robbins back in 1956.

Marty was fresh out of the Navy at the end of World War II and working on a local TV show near his home in Arizona. That’s when an established star — West Virginia native Little Jimmy Dickens — discovered him and brought him to Columbia Records.

A few years later, Robbins recorded this song and it cemented a career that — over the next quarter century — would see him record more than 500 songs on 60 albums.

This Week's Freebie from The 1937 Flood

Whenever Michelle Hoge comes back to visit her old band mates, as she did last week, this tune is among the ones we trot out.

Just listen to how Michelle’s superb harmonies seal the deal on this song that Ivory Joe Hunter recorded 77 years ago this month.
